Young Pavement Artists Competition
Make it a jungle out there!
Turn your pavement into your works of art and enter the Young Pavement Artists Competition in aid of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. This year’s environmental theme is endangered species. Drawing a tiger, a turtle, an albatross or an orang-utan will help to bring these amazing animals to life on your pavement – as well as raise funds for a really important cause.
Muscular Dystrophy Campaign
The competition is in aid of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, the leading UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of all people affected by muscle disease. It provides free care and support; funds world-class research to find treatments and cures; campaigns bring about change and awards grants towards the cost of equipment, such as wheelchairs. Muscle disease is the gradual and relentless wasting and weakening of muscles. It can affect babies, children and adults and there is no cure.

The Competition
The competition was originally started 23 years ago to encourage children and young people to get together and through the creation of pavement art, generate awareness and funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
We’re calling on schools, community groups and youth clubs across the UK and overseas to get involved by organising local event competitions. Playgrounds, pathways and even patios are all great venues to get chalking. Anyone who has difficulty getting down to pavement level can draw on paper.

There are five individual age categories to choose from: 4-5, 5-6, 7-11, 11-14, 14-19 and it is only £1 for each entry.
Winners
The winners of each local event are entered into the national competition where prizes include an amazing Earthwatch family expedition to watch the grey whale migration in Canada. Plus, a year's free subscription for National Geographic Kids and Anorak magazines.
